JULIE’S YOGA-RELATED BIO
 

I’d like to help you become Stronger and more Connected to your Self through the various components of Yoga, Modern Mindfulness and Common Sense.


I founded the Rogue Yoga Life in 2012 with my experiences over the past decade studying with various experts in the Yoga, Chiropractic, Physical Therapist and Massage Therapist fields, practicing a wide spectrum of sustainable movement modalities around the world, teaching at several studios in LA and SF, and leading over 150 Yoga+DJ “pop up” sessions up and down the California coast, and honestly feeling like there’s got to be a way to provide quality yoga instruction without conforming to what’s “trending” or what’s the “old-fashioned” way on the mat.

Go at your own pace means moving with your breathing, but it doesn’t mean easy; these classes can be pretty hard, and you will break a sweat. But you’ll do it playfully — this isn’t the place to enforce stiff definitions of what yoga should look like. 

Tran’s instructions are remixed versions of the traditional: “Sit your hips low into chair pose, uttkatasana. Option to bob your head,” she smiles and nods along to the beat herself.

We’re given a period of “dance-asana,” in which we simply groove to the music in the space of our mats, and full license to, basically, do whatever the fuck we want.
